On Monday mayors Nick Shearer of Jamestown and Eddie Thomas of Russell Springs welcomed AB’s Training Facility to their new location in Russell Springs. For more than a decade Amber Bryant has provided gymnastics, dance, and cheer instruction to the people of southcentral Kentucky at her Somerset location.
“We decided about six months ago to come to Russell Springs and open up another facility,” said Amber Bryant, owner of AB’s Training Facility.
AB’s Training Facility had been slated to open this location earlier but hit a snag familiar to businesses everywhere. “We were actually ready to go in March,” Amber said.
With Kentucky succeeding in meeting the CDC guidelines for reopening, June 1 became the fallback date for the reopen and resumption of business for fitness centers. In AB’s case, it meant the opening of business in Russell Springs, and bringing their services closer to many of their customers.
“We have been in Somerset for 15 years now and we decided to come to Russell Springs because the people here are amazing, we had a lot of children coming in from the Russell Springs area, very loyal children with good families and I decided if I was going to open up another business that I wanted to make my second one in Russell Springs.”
AB’s Training Facility offers competitive and recreational programs in dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading for girls as well as boys. They have helped develop athletes for the USA Gymnastics Program, All-Star Cheerleading, All-Star Dance Teams, tumbling, and more. Age groups for the children start at three years and progress all the way through high school.
“Pretty much every program we have has won national championships,” Amber said. “Numerous.”
Amber credits her loyal client base for helping her business grow and thrive without much in the way of marketing or advertising, growing AB’s Training Facility through word of mouth and dedication to the craft.
“She’s done this her whole life,” said Adam Bryant. “We’re the biggest in Somerset. We have about 500 kids up there and hopefully we’ll get that here.”
AB’s Training Facility does maintain an online presence to help people get signed up and stay up-to-date with their offerings. “People can visit us on our website www.abtrainingfacility.com,” said Amber. “The Somerset location is (606) 416-5649, Russell Springs is 2708662133. They can email us at abtfrs@yahoo.com for Russell Springs and abtf@yahoo.com for Somerset.”
AB’s is also active on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter where they have photos and videos of their athletes at the gym and in competition.
